Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs)
CEA Tech institutes List and Leti work together to drive advances in hardware-software integration (executing complex applications on miniaturized objects). List also addresses multi-core processor architecture design and programming, as well as embedded systems reliability, operating safety, and security issues.
The institutes’ researchers have access to an advanced virtual CAD environment for prototyping that enables them to rapidly investigate and assess complex innovative solutions (algorithms, processors, architectures, and embedded software) before building and testing them. This virtual environment can be used to ensure that developments meet the necessary specifications (form factor, energy consumption, safety, etc.) before physically building them.
ALL TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS
Communication network management and configuration tools developed by CEA-List, a CEA Tech institute, recently enabled autonomous vehicle platooning for the EU Autopilot project, but the potential applications for these tools are much wider.
Theoretically, in-memory computing should make it possible to reduce circuit power consumption. Researchers recently verified this hypothesis in the lab, using tools they developed for the programming of innovative computing architectures.
Moovlab, a spinoff of CEA-Leti, a CEA Tech institute, helps gyms improve customer loyalty with fun and interactive virtual circuit training tailored to each user’s individual goals.
CEA-Leti, a CEA Tech institute, is gradually shifting over to more sustainable practices.
CEA-Leti, a CEA Tech institute, unveiled a state-of-the-art demonstrator chip for high-performance computing applications at ISSCC 2020. The low-cost, energy-efficient processor is built on an innovative multi-core system that is both modular and expandable
How to collaborate with CEA Tech teams ?
CEA is a French government-funded technological research organisation in four main areas: low-carbon energies, defense and security, information technologies and health technologies. A prominent player in the European Research Area, it is involved in setting up collaborative projects with many partners around the world.
