our know-how

Detector design is advancing by leaps and bounds, and the range of potential applications for imaging detectors is growing exponentially. CEA Tech institute Leti can develop detectors of various wavelengths to suit the intended use.

Leti researchers are working on visible and near-infrared imaging, developing pixels whose design, technology, and other features can be modified to suit an increasingly broad range of applications, from cameras to driverless cars. And, for the military and space industries, Leti researchers are working on photodiodes made from a variety of semiconductor materials, including II–VI materials, an area in which Leti brings extensive know-how in conjunction with industry leader Sofradir. For business and consumer applications, Leti has developed microbolometers, leveraging 25 years of experience in bolometric imager R&D. This technology has been transferred to Ulis for commercialization.

Finally, Leti also conducts advanced R&D in terahertz imaging, developing matrix detectors for security, industrial quality control, and farming.
