©TadamichiThe French government has tasked the CEA with rolling out its unique CEA Tech concept across France. The goal is to make CEA Tech French manufacturer’s go-to organization for technological innovation and make new technologies the industrial economy’s leading growth driver.

With more than 50 years of experience taking new technologies from the lab to industry, CEA Tech is poised to drive and coordinate the French government’s innovation-led industrial regeneration policy. With networks spanning the worlds of scientific research and industry, CEA Tech is well-positioned to help France meet its goal of more competitive businesses through higher-quality products.

Revealing our business’ innovation potential

The plan starts with CEA Tech branch offices in regions. The mission of these “regional technology-transfer platforms” will be to make French manufacturers more competitive on global markets, using the findings of basic research and making Key Enabling Technologies available to a broad range of industries. And regional SMBs will be the first to benefit.

CEA Tech will coordinate local innovation ecosystems and provide French manufacturers with the innovative technologies they need to develop high-end products and boost their competitiveness through greater added value.

Regional technology-transfer platforms

CEA Tech has opened branch offices in Toulouse, Bordeaux, and Nantes, and will step up its activities in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region.

The regional branch offices will work closely with local stakeholders and the main CEA Tech platforms in Grenoble and Saclay.

Their mission is to:

  • Disseminate the KETs developed at the CEA to meet the needs of all industries
  • Develop local research programs that round out existing programs and that meet the unique needs of locally-anchored industries

Meeting business’ needs across France

The regional technology-transfer platforms will disseminate the technological innovations developed at CEA Tech’s main platforms in Grenoble and Saclay in a way that meets the needs of local businesses of all sizes, from start-ups and SMBs to local sites and subsidiaries of major corporations. The regional offices will play a key role in France’s strategy to boost industrial competitiveness through high added value and enhanced product quality.

CEA TECH LOCATIONS

Grenoble’s innovation ecosystem is one of the world’s finest. The CEA and its partners have created some 25,000 jobs in the Grenoble area over the past ten years and developed manufacturing activities that today account for around one-third of local GDP.
