ActiCM, a List startup, is an expert in 3D measurement by optical triangulation. In 2008, it was acquired by the Canadian company Creaform (Ametek group), a worldwide specialist in portable 3D measurement and analysis technologies. The acquisition allowed Creaform to round out its product line, responding to the entire spectrum of needs on the 100% optical 3D measurement market. More specifically, ActiCM’s technology is now found in Creaform’s quality control solutions for industrial parts, from prototype measurement to sampling, systematic measurement, and more. The company’s measurement solutions, which can be used by production-line operators, produce fast and robust measurements in any environment and boast 80-micron precision. Customers include Volkswagen, BMW, Nissan, Safran, and Lockheed Martin.

With the integration of ActiCM’s technology assets, Creaform was able to set up an R&D unit wholly dedicated to 3D measurement using optical triangulation and tracing. More than ten people work in this Grenoble-based unit. The company’s other R&D activities are based out of the company’s Canadian headquarters.
